The Week of April 13th
Congrats to the students logging into clever and completing IXL, Successmaker, and REFLEX math!!! I will give you a shout out in our next lesson, I can see when you guys are logging on, so keep it up! I am proud of you!
The FINAL paper workbook distribution will occur on this week. You will have to go to our school at the specified time. Please DOJO message me if you do not have the district email.

CLEVER UPDATE:
I have added the classroom FLOCABULARY account information in your clever under the "Class Resources". It will say "Flocab- USERNAME and PASSWORD" Use the username and password I have in your clever. YAY for fun videos!
READING:
Be sure that the comprehension assignments from last week are completed and submitted to Mrs. Petrino. You can take a picture of the work and send via email (christina.petrino@tusd1.org) or dojo messages. These assignments can be found on Clever (Follow these: Clever, Benchmark Advance, Assignments, Reader, A New Life in Vermont) Cause/effect assignment and A New Life In Vermont- Comprehension Questions.
WRITING:
Weekly prompt: In an essay to share with your classmates, write about 2 major changes to your life that have happened recently.
Start with an outline! REMEMBER: A paragraph should have 3 or *MORE* sentences. Try to avoid repeating words, phrases. Then turn your outline into a rough draft. Check it for errors yourself and then have someone else check and revise your work. Rewrite using your nicest handwriting.
Your essay should have:
- 4 paragraphs (introduction, 2 body paragraphs (one for each major change), and a conclusion)
- An introduction that includes an attention getter, topic sentence, and a sentence to state your star ideas.
- 2 body paragraphs. Each star should be a major change and should use a transition. The reds should elaborate, provide more evidence and explanation.
- A conclusion that begins with a transition. It should restate your topic sentence in a different way. It should close your essay for your reader.
Math:
- ***NEW- CLICK here for Lesson 24- complete the fluency sprint and problem set pages! You do not need a printer, you can number and answer on a different paper.
- Click here for Lesson 23- This is the lesson that was taught in the ZOOM session on 4/14. The last few pages contain independent work.
