Writing:
Prompt: What three things will you miss about third grade?
Start with an outline! REMEMBER: A paragraph should have 3 or *MORE* sentences. Try to avoid repeating words, phrases. Then turn your outline into a rough draft. Check it for errors yourself and then have someone else check and revise your work. Rewrite using your nicest handwriting.
Your essay should have:
- 4 paragraphs (introduction, 3 body paragraphs (one for each thing you will miss about third grade), and a conclusion)
- An introduction that includes an attention getter, topic sentence, and a sentence to state your star ideas.
- 3 body paragraphs. Each star should be a major third grade aspect you will miss and should use a transition. The reds should elaborate, provide more evidence and explanation.
- A conclusion that begins with a transition. It should restate your topic sentence in a different way. It should close your essay for your reader.
